Bass Luthiers and Manufacturers

Meeting the highest demands and featuring the finest workmannship our top-class basses are handmade in the North of Germany. Our necks (through or bolt on) are mainly made of rock maple. Depending on the design they are laminated either with padouk or walnut wood. Additional neck stability is provided by fingerboards made of ebony, rosewood or maple with 24 precisely fitted jumbo frets.
Since the introduction of the first Steinberger instruments in 1980, the Steinberger name has become synonymous with evolution, innovation, ergonomics and performance.
We wish every Alembic customer could personally visit our factory. It's a great opportunity to meet the people that will actually build your instrument, and you can even select the woods for your axe personally.
